Indianapolis, IN – According to the police officials, the 49-year-old daughter, later identified as Carrmen, and her 60-year-old husband, Fredrick, were taken into custody and later charged with multiple charges, including: negIect of a dependent resulting in death, altering the scene of a death, failure to report human remains and other charges in connection with her dad’s death, 73-year-old Keneth.

Police officials say the woman and her partner allowed her dad to die on a sofa in their home. The investigation process began in June after the husband called 911 and told the dispatcher that his wife’s dad passed away on the sofa in his room. When first responders arrived on scene, they realized that the house was filled with bad smell and the 73-year-old man’s sofa was covered with urlne, f-ces and bIood. During an interview with investigators, the victim’s daughter reportedly said that her elderly dad came to stay with her and her husband one year before.

The woman also said that one month ago, the old man’s health deteriorated to the point that he could not leave the sofa. The daughter also told investigators that her dad was reportedly faking his diseases because he craved her attention. The daughter’s husband reportedly told investigators that he never went inside that room because of the smell and that his wife was responsible for taking care of her parent. When authorities asked the man how did the elderly men went to the bathroom, he reportedly replied that the victim just ‘just d-fecated and urlnated on himself while lying on the sofa’.

Police officials believe the victim couldn’t even use the restroom on his own because ‘the mess in the room would’ve stopped him from accessing the bathroom with his wheelchair’. During the investigation process, authorities also discovered that the victim’s daughter and her husband regularly used the victim’s SociaI security payments, but didn’t spent the money for the victim’s benefit. The medical examiner told investigators that the victim was unable to move and needed constant care. Police officials released a statement saying that both the daughter and her husband ‘did not care for nor seek help for the elderly man despite having voluntarily assumed care of him’.
