Shreveport, LA – According to the police officials, Shreveport Police Department’s K-9 unit played a crucial role in the arrest of Michael Kingston, a 23-year-old fugitive wanted for First Degree Murder, Armed Robbery with a Firearm, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The U.S. Marshals Service requested assistance from Shreveport PD’s K-9 unit in locating Kingston, who was found at The Encore apartments on Kingston Road.

When officers arrived, Kingston attempted to flee, prompting the deployment of K-9 Diesel. The police dog quickly apprehended the suspect as he tried to escape, forcing him to drop a firearm during the chase.

Diesel’s swift action helped officers gain control of the situation without further incident.

In addition to his original charges, Kingston now faces further charges, including Resisting an Officer.

The operation, aided by the efforts of K-9 Diesel and his handler, was successful in removing a dangerous individual from the community.

Police commended the bravery and quick response of the K-9 team for their role in the arrest.
