Milwaukee, WI – According to the police officials, the 31-year-old mom, later identified as Kathrina, and her 39-year-old partner, later identified as Jessy, were charged with multiple charges in connection with her child’s death earlier this year. The parent was charged with chronic neglect of a child and neglecting a child, while her partner was charged with physical abuse of a child (repeated acts causing death) and hiding a corpse. Both were initially charged in a child abuse case in connection to her child’s disappearance in February this year.
Both the mother and her boyfriend were charged after the child’s body was found. The child was reported missing in February, and authorities believe that’s when the boy was killed. An autopsy revealed that the child, 3-year-old EIijah, died from homicide by unspecified means. The child also had a skuII fracture consistent with child abuse.
During the investigation process, authorities discovered the parent put her child in her boyfriend’s home because she wanted him to discipline the boy. Authorities say the woman left her son at her boyfriend’s home for days before he died. The woman had many chances to remove her son and save him, police officials said.
During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the woman messaged her partner to ‘not say too much’ because she was worried that investigators were attempting to entrap the man for drinking and taking medication while watching her son. During an interview with investigators, the 39-year-old man reportedly said he disciplined the child by forcing him to stand pray for long periods of time, but a photo showed the child having bruises on his face and neck. The boyfriend denied seeing those injuries.
