Louisiana – According to the statement, the sheriff’s deputy was arrested after admitting to battery against his dating partner, according to officials.
Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. stated that investigators were alerted after the victim, identified as the girlfriend of Deputy Earl Armstrong Jr., 61, reported the incident.
She told authorities that the battery occurred after she confronted Armstrong about seeing another woman. The victim also provided investigators with a video of the altercation as evidence.
After being read his Miranda rights, Armstrong admitted to committing the battery, officials said.
Armstrong, who has been employed with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office since April 2019, was arrested on one count of battery of a dating partner. He was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
The case remains under investigation.
