Oklahoma City, OK – An Oklahoma dad, 41-year-old Johny, was ordered to serve 35 years behind bars after pleading guilty to multiple charges, including child abuse and neglect in connection with the last year’s incident involving his daughter. Authorities say the defendant admitted to tying his child outside and claiming she wasn’t tied for long, ‘maybe an hour while he was gone’. But, during the investigation process, authorities discovered that the child was left outside for days and needed medical attention. The girl and her family were visiting Oklahoma and were from Texas, court records say.
The investigation process began in July last year after the 911 caller told the dispatcher about girl that was tied outside and that she needed medical attention. First responders realized that the 15-year-old girl suffered injuries on her legs and rushed her to the hospital for treatment. The responding officers made contact with the 911 caller, who reportedly told them that the child was tied outside for several days and she was the only one that gave her something to eat.
The responding officers then made contact with the victim’s family members, who was not identified. The woman initially said that she didn’t knew about the girl, but later admitted to knowing but was scared of the victim’s dad to say anything. When the victim’s dad arrived home, he told the responding officers that he tied his daughter because the girl likes to lie and can’t be trusted. The man also told investigators that she was tied for just 1 hour.
During an interview with investigators, the defendant reportedly said that he left his daughter outside because he needed to go to the store and because the girl was soiIing herself, he left her outside because ‘that’s way there is no mess in the house’. The defendant also told investigators that he left his daughter because he didn’t know what else to do with the girl. The defendant told investigators he believes the disciplinary issues stem from the girl wanting to live with her mom. The defendant’s girlfriend, KayIa, told investigators that she was taking a shower and did not know anything took place. She was sentenced to three decades behind bars after pleading guilty to the same charges. The child is now with foster family, court records say.
