Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced that construction on a 0.64-mile section of La. 87 will begin on March 10, 2025.

The $951,269.79 project will extend from La. 3182 to 0.65 miles southeast of La. 3182.

The project will include new drainage structures, milling asphalt concrete, pavement patching, and an asphalt concrete overlay.

Work is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Road closures and alternating lane closures are expected throughout the construction period.

During road closures, La. 87 will be open to local traffic only, with a detour route utilizing La. 671, La. 182, and La. 3182.

Emergency vehicles will not have access through the entire area during full road closures.

During lane closures, the road will remain open to regular traffic with a 12-foot maximum lane restriction for oversized loads.

Emergency vehicles will have access during these periods but may experience delays.

The project is expected to be completed by May 2025.
