Philadelphia, PENNSYLVANIA – According to the police officials, the 40-year-old mom, HoIIy, and the 41-year-old dad, Hawa, were taken into custody and later charged with third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and other charges in connection with their son’s death, who reportedly died last year. Both parents told investigators that their 8-year-old son, Hunter, reportedly died after disobeying them. The parents were stressing their 8-year-old was repeatedly told not to touch dad’s medicine.
In July last year, the 8-year-old child overdosed after he was reportedly exposed to parent’s drug stash. The 911 called told the dispatcher that little boy was in cardiac arrest. First responders realized that the boy’s dad was attempting CPR on his son, who was rushed to the hospital, but was later pronounced dead.
The responding officers reportedly discovered that the parents had a box with hundreds of used drug bags. But, according to the police officials, when asked about the drugs, the parents reportedly said that they weren’t drug users. Medical analysis reportedly discovered that the boy had fentanyI, cocaine, and other drugs in his system. Prosecutors claim the parents deliberately left lethal drugs out in the open.
The responding officers also realized that there were many baggies on the room floor, where the boy was found. According to the police officials, charges come1 year after the little boy died. Investigators released a statement, saying that it took time to gather all the evidence, including toxicology results and discuss the case with experts.
