Baltimore, MD – According to the police officials, the 34-year-old mom, later identified as JaIesia, and her 34-year-old partner, Brand0n, were taken into custody and later charged with multiple charges, including first-degree child abuse resulting in death in connection with JaIesia’s child’s death. Police officials say the little boy, Brlan, was rushed to the hospital last week with unresponsive only to be pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.
The investigation process began on Wednesday after the child’s mom called 911 and told the dispatcher that her son was not breathing. First responders rushed the child to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The medical examiner told investigators that the child’s death was ra homicide by blunt force trauma and that the little boy suffered a Iacerated Iiver, multiple fractured ribs and internal bleeding to the head and torso.
During an interview with investigators, the boy’s mom reportedly said that she walked into the bathroom and found her boyfriend asleep and her child was in the bathtub while hot water was running. The woman then woke her boyfriend up and both removed the boy from the bathroom. After applying cream on the child’s burns, she reportedly called the authorities. When asked about the boy’s bruises, she reportedly confessed to punching her child multiple times two days earlier as a form of discipline for allegedly taking money from her purse. After she beat the child, her boyfriend continued ‘disciplining’ the boy.
During an interview with investigators, the mom’s partner reportedly said that he left the bathroom to smoke a cigarette and when he returned, he realized that the child was playing with the water nozzles. The man then told investigators that the last thing he remembers is his girlfriend waking him up. When authorities asked the man about the child’s bruises, he reportedly said that ‘he play fights with him’. The victim’s sibling was also bruises and couldn’t move his arm. When authorities asked the little boy about the injuries, he reportedly said that he suffered the injuries from boxing with his mom’s partenr.
