Indianapolis, IN – According to the police officials, the 23-year-old mom, later identified as Destlny, and her much younger boyfriend, later identified as 16-year-old Cristian, were taken into custody and later charged following the death of the woman’s 4-year-old daughter, Octavia. The mom was charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in death and the boyfriend with murder.
First responders arrived at the mother’s home and found the 4-year-old girl unresponsive. The girl was rushed to the hospital where doctors realized that she has very little brain activity. The child was placed on life support, but, unfortunately, she died 2 days later.
During an interview with investigators, the victim’s mom reportedly said that she found her daughter unresponsive. When officers found the little girl, they reportedly noticed a bite mark on her arm. The child also had bruises on her neck. The woman reportedly told investigators that her boyfriend bit her the previous day. The 16-year-old boyfriend initially denied biting the child and said their pet bit the child. In a follow-up interview, he reportedly admitted to biting the girl, but only after she bit him first.
The victim’s mom also told investigators that her child was behaving strange after the biting. The child also threw up, but the mother believed it was due to fearfulness. An autopsy will reportedly reveal the cause of death, police officials said. The 16-year-old boyfriend (SEE PHOTO) will be tried in an adult court, prosecutors say.
