Shreveport, LA – According to the state officials, the contract provides independent pharmacies with the option to retain their current reimbursement terms or switch to a model based on the National Average Drug Acquisition Cost.

“With this emergency contract, pharmacists now have a choice,” stated Governor Landry.

“Independent pharmacies can maintain their existing contracts or opt into this new arrangement specifically tailored for them. Local pharmacies will no longer bear financial losses while serving their communities.

This is a significant victory for local pharmacies and for the people of Louisiana.”
