Louisiana – Governor Jeff Landry signed an executive order declaring a period of mourning to honor the victims of the January 1 terrorist attack in New Orleans. The order directs flags over state buildings to be flown at half-staff on specific days, with each day dedicated to remembering one victim.
The governor encouraged all political subdivisions, private entities, and educational institutions to join in lowering flags to half-staff during this period. The executive order will be updated as more victims’ names are made public.

“Louisiana will never forget the 14 innocent lives lost and the horrific scenes of January 1. However, Louisiana and her people will never cower in fear. Instead, we will unite and come back stronger in honor of every person who lost their lives that day,” said Governor Landry.
