Kansas – Kansas man, John, was sentenced in the death of his former partner, Debora, after jury found him guilty on multiple charges, including first-degree murder. The 64-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years in connection with the fatal incident which occurred three years ago at his home. The defendant was sentenced last week after jury found him guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, criminal threat of violence and other charges, court records say.

The investigation process began in April 2021 after the 911 caller told the dispatcher about an unresponsive woman at the victim’s trailer. First responders rushed to the scene only to realize that the woman suffered severe blunt force trauma to the head and face. The responding officers discovered that the woman was missing parts of her face and other parts of her boy, only to later realize that her body was left on the floor and was eaten by the man’s pets. The 64-year-old man was taken into custody and later charged, local news outlet WIBW reported.

During the investigation process, authorities in Kansas discovered that the ex boyfriend reportedly grabbed the woman by the hair and dragged her into her trailer. The elderly man then struggled to pull the victim, only to begin punching her in the head with a flashlight. When he attempted to enter the trailer, both the defendant and the victim fell down on the stairs leading to the trailer’s front door and then the defendant grabbed an a.x and began punching her in the head multiple times. The man then dragged the woman into the trailer only to later walk out appearing very calm.

During the investigation process, authorities reportedly told an unidentified individual at the county jail, two days before he killed the woman, that he was going to kill his wife and himself when he got out of jail. The affidavit states the defendant told investigators the altercation started when the woman started hitting him after she thought he had slashed her tires. He told investigators he only let the air out. The defendant and his former girlfriend reportedly had a history of domestic violence incidents, with authorities responding to nearly 50 calls at their home for just 1 year.
