LaDOTD announced that the US 84 bridge over Bayou Pierre at the Red River/DeSoto Parish line is closed effective immediately due to the condition of the structure

Shreveport, LA – According to the statement, working crews are mobilizing to conduct necessary repairs to the bridge deck.

The bridge, located approximately 3.25 miles east of the I-49 interchange, is expected to remain closed for approximately three days, weather permitting.

Restrictions/Permits: A total bridge closure is in effect at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.

Alternate Route: Detour signage will be in place, with the primary detour being LA 509.

This work will be performed weather permitting.

Motorists are advised to plan accordingly and follow the posted detour routes to ensure safety and minimize travel disruptions.
