Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced that construction will begin on March 17 along La. 31, extending from La. 182 (East St. Peter Street) in Iberia Parish to 0.90 miles south of La. 92-1 (Smede Highway) in St. Martin Parish.
The $8.4 million project, funded entirely by the state, will include milling asphalt pavement, pavement patching, asphalt concrete overlay, guardrail installation, striping, and related work.
Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Alternating lane closures are expected, and a 12-foot-wide lane restriction will be in place for oversized loads. Emergency vehicles will have access but may experience delays.
The project is expected to be completed by April 2026.
