Los Angeles, CA – According to the court documents, the 55-year-old defendant, later identified as TheobaId, was sentenced to 25 years to life behind bars after he reportedly killed his partner last year. Prosecutors claim the defendant strangIed his 61-year-old partner, AIice, last year. The defendant was sentenced after jury convicted him of first-degree murder last month. Prosecutors claim the defendant killed the woman before burying her body.
According to the court documents, the key evidence which convicted the defendant was a several hours long recording found on the victim’s phone. It remains unclear if the victim made the recording on purpose or by accident, but it actually captured the final moments of her life. In the recording, the defendant can be heard asking the woman ‘how she want’s to die – by bIunt force trauma or should be choked to death’.
Shortly after, the woman can be heard pleading for her life, telling her partner to stop more than 4 dozen times. The woman can also be heard saying that ‘he should think about his children because he probably doesn’t want his children to be children of a killer’.
The investigation process began after the woman missed her flight and her friends reported her missing. The woman’s body was found one month later. During the trial, one of the victim’s friends, Alda, reportedly testified that on one instance, several years before, he reportedly ‘asked for her help to help him kill someone’. The woman reportedly testified that ‘he was intense and looked her in the eyes when he asked her that question’.
