Houston, TX – According to the court documents, the 42-year-old defendant, later identified as Jesie, was sentenced to four decades behind bars for his role in the death of 24-year-old John several years ago. The defendant was found guilty and convicted last week for the 2015 murder of the 24-year-old victim. During the trial, prosecutors said the defendant shot and killed the victim because the younger man was allegedly threatening to share n-de pictures of the defendant’s family member.
The fatal incident occurred in May 2015, court records say. The investigation process began after the 911 caller told the dispatcher about a car accident at the location. The responding officers realized that the victim was not injured from a crash, but suffered a single gunshot wound to the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. While at the scene, authorities discovered that the victim’s 2-year-old baby and an unidentified woman were also in the vehicle when he was shot to death.
During an interview with investigators, the unidentified woman reportedly said that the victim stopped at a light. Moments later, 3 people exited a blue truck and walked up to their vehicle, while one of them was holding a weapon. Shortly after, the driver’s window broke and the victim crashed the vehicle. Several years into the investigation, authorities received a tip which led them to the defendant.
An unidentified witness reportedly said that the defendant was angry because the victim was threatening to share n-de pictures of his family member. The family member and the victim were reportedly in a relationship. The defendant and two other man began looking for the victim, even went to his house. The witness also told investigators that the defendant approached the victim’s vehicle and shot him through the window.
