Boston, MA – According to the court documents, the 38-year-old defendant, later identified as Mathew, reportedly killed his girlfriend, who was pregnant, while his wife was giving birth to their third child. Prosecutors claim the defendant killed the pregnant woman because he wanted to silence her from revealing that he ra-ed her when she was 15 years old. The ex-cop, who was formally indicted this week for killing a witness or a victim, faces life in prison if convicted, court records say.
The 23-year-old woman, Sandrra, joined the Police Department’s Explorer program as a 15-year-old, hoping to find a direction in law enforcement. Prosecutors claim the defendant, who was 27 at the time of the alleged assault, reportedly used his authority to exploit and se-ually abuse the victim when she was 15 years old and continued to have se* with her when she became an adult. During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the victim told her friend that the defendant was abusive towards her and everything about their relationship. During the investigation process, authorities also discovered that the victim told the defendant that she wanted to have a baby with him.
Both the defendant and the victim then agreed that he would ‘lmpregnate her in exchange for her silence about his criminal conduct’. The woman became pregnant in Dec. 2020, but the defendant wasn’t very happy about it. He reportedly became vioIent with the woman and even shoved her several times. One month later, someone called the local police station and told them about the defendant’s criminal conduct with the woman when she was 15 years old. The defendant also discovered that his longtime mlstress also told a friend that he ra-ed her when she was 15.
In February 2021, the defendant went to the victim’s apartment when his wife was at the hospital giving birth to their third child. The man strangled the woman to death while wearing a mask and then staged the crime scene, to make it look like she killed herself. He reportedly put a strap around her neck and tied it to the door. The State Police reportedly conducted an investigation and ruled the woman’s death as suicide. When the defendant was questioned by the state police, he reportedly said that he started having a relationship with the woman last year, when she was already an adult and that he was not the father of her baby. But, authorities then hired another medical examiner, who reportedly said that the woman was strangled to death. The police department then started an internal investigation and placed the defendant on leave.
