Indiana – An Indiana man was ordered to serve nearly eight decades behind bards after he was convicted of murder last month in connection with a fatal beating in 2023 which left 56-year-old man, Brian, dead. The defendant, later identified as 31-year-old Vlncent, and his 24-year-old accomplice, Brannon, reportedly beat the victim to death after he told a woman, who Vlncent viewed as his sister, that he liked her Iegs. Brannon was convicted of reckless homicide and was ordered to serve 5 years behind bars, court records say.
The investigation process began in May 2023 after the 911 caller told the dispatcher that the defendant called her and showed the victim’s body while telling her that ‘he did this for her’. The woman ran inside the home and called the authorities. The responding officers found the victim suffering from life-threatening injuries and rushed him to the hospital for treatment. The 56-year-old man succumbed to his injuries the following day and the defendants’ charges were changed to murder after they were initially arrested for attempted murder.
During the investigation process, authorities learned that the victim was inside the home when the unidentified woman entered the residence. The victim then told the woman that he really liked her Iegs. The victim then told the woman something else, which made Vlncent very upset because ‘ no one talked to the woman, who he viewed as his sister, like that.
When the victim walked outside to go home, both defendants followed him only to tie him and put him in the truck. While outside, the woman heard the defendant saying that he is going to kill him, because ‘this is what he does and who he is, he is going to take care of it.’ The man also told the woman that ‘he is going to kill the victim for her’, while asking her if she wants him dead. The victim said no and told the defendant that he should let the victim go.
Both defendants left with the truck only to come back shortly and try to remove the victim’s clothes so he could show the woman what he did for her. The responding officers took both defendants into custody, who reportedly denied ever touching the man. Authorities in Indiana later revealed that they had scratch marks all over their bodies.
