Minneapolis, MN – Authorities in Minnesota released a statement, saying the 31-year-old man, later identified as K. Edward, was arrested and later charged with multiple charges, including murder, burglary and kidnapping after he reportedly killed his 61-year-old parent, who carries the same name, by shooting him to death. During the investigation process, authorities discovered the man killed his parent following an ongoing dispute between the two. The shooter’s partner told investigators that her boyfriend had disagreements with his family and didn’t get along.

The fatal shooting occurred on Friday last week, police officials said. The investigation process began after the victim’s family members went to the neighboring cabin to call 911 after witnessing their family member shooting his parent to death. Shortly after the shooting, the defendant fled the scene only to be arrested at his girlfriend’s home. The 911 call was places by the victim’s sibling and their common friend.

They reportedly told the responding officers that the victim’s son shot his parent multiple times. The victim was found on the floor, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the victim, his family member and a friend were eating when the saw someone on a camera walking up their cabin with a weapon in his hand. The victim’s family member went to the other room to grab a weapon only for the 31-year-old shooter to come inside and start shooting.

After he shot his parent to death, the defendant told the other two to sit down. When the two begged him to let them go, the man reportedly allowed them to leave, but to leave their phones. During an interview with investigators, the victim’s sibling reportedly said the 31-year-old shoot was not in good relations with his parent and they weren’t getting along for a very long time. The 31-year-old shooter is being held on $3 million bond, court records say.
