Columbus, OH – According to the court documents, the 32-year-old parent, later identified as Domenique, was convicted of child endangerment during a bench trial last week, but won’t serve prison time after judge sentenced the woman to five years probation. Prosecutors claim the defendant left her three children home alone, without supervision, for several days only to fly to Florida because ‘her friend needed Iiposuction surgery’.

Prosecutors claim the defendant left her 7-year-old speciaI need children, who are twin, and their 10-year-old sibIing while she flew to a different state. The parent left her children all alone for several days in February this year, court records say. The investigation process began after the woman’s child told her educator that she was home alone with her siblings and their parent was somewhere else. The child also told the educator that their parent video called them and arranged food to be delivered to their house.

The concerned educator called 911 and alerted the authorities. The responding officers made contact with the children, who reportedly insisted that their mother hadn’t left them alone, but police didn’t believed them. Shortly after, the responding officers called the children’s family member, who reportedly told them that her daughter hadn’t notified her that she was traveling out of state. The concerned grandparent also told authorities that she would take care of the girls had she been asked.

Several days later, authorities made contact with the parent, who reportedly told them that ‘she thought her eldest child, 10, could provide care for the other two girls while she was not home’. The woman also claimed that she never left the state. During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the woman traveled to Florida one day before the 911 call. In a follow-up interview with investigators, the woman reportedly admitted to traveling to Florida ‘to support a friend undergoing Iiposuction surgery’.
