Houston, TX – According to the court documents, the young mother, later identified as 27-year-old NicoIIe, was sentenced to 15 years behind bars after she pleaded guilty to injury to a chiId resulting in serious bodily injury in connection with her child’s death, 5-year-old Dominic. Prosecutors claim the woman reportedly knew her son was regularly beaten and abused by her 29-year-old boyfriend, DanieI, but didn’t do anything to stop it until the man ultimately killed the child by beating him to death. The boy’s body was found in the Colorado mountains, where they buried him.
The woman had to testify against her partner, as part of the plea deal. The 29-year-old boyfriend was convicted of injury to a child resulting in death. During the trial, the mother reportedly testified that she met her boyfriend online and they used to live in Florida before they decided to move to Texas. The mother had her 5-year-old son and her boyfriend had a daughter. The woman also told prosecutors that when they moved to Texas, the boyfriend started beating the child, saying that the mother ‘wasn’t doing enough to keep the boy in line’.
The woman also told prosecutors that her boyfriend would beat the child for any reason, such as: ‘he wouldn’t answer right away, wouldn’t keep quiet, not eat his food fast enough and many other things’. In July 2021, the family went to a hotel, where the boyfriend threw the child against the wall. The boy bounced off the waII only to get up and vomlt dark bIood before he died several hours later.
The mother and her partner didn’t called for help or the authorities, instead they drove to remote area and buried the boy. The mother also told investigators that she did not stop the abuse because she was too desperate to be in a reIationship. The 29-year-old man will be sentenced next week and is facing a sentence of life in prison.
