Shreveport, LA – Per reports, the Shreveport Fire Recruit Class 75 participated in a Family Night event and conducted Liquid Propane Gas (LPG) burn training. The evening provided an opportunity for friends and family to show their support for the recruits as they progress in their rigorous preparation for careers in firefighting.
Shreveport Fire Chief Clarence Reese, Jr. addressed attendees, expressing gratitude for the support shown by loved ones. “The support you show your loved ones is no small commitment, and we recognize that it takes a great deal of patience and understanding as you do your part in preparing these men and women for this challenging and rewarding career. Your encouragement provides our recruits with the foundation necessary to succeed as they learn the skills, discipline, and teamwork to serve and protect our community.”
The LPG burn training, a key component of the recruits’ education, offered hands-on experience in handling flammable gas scenarios. The recruits are being trained in the skills and discipline needed to respond effectively to emergencies while fostering teamwork and resilience.
