Shreveport Police Department participates in Intergovernmental Consortium to address challenges facing local youth

Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Police Department participated in the Intergovernmental Consortium, hosted by the Caddo Parish School Board and Superintendent Keith Burton, to address challenges facing local youth.

Chief Smith spoke at the event, emphasizing the importance of connecting families with needed services and reaching those who may not know where to seek help.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Wilbert Pryor highlighted issues affecting youth, while representatives from Volunteers of Youth Justice, The Harbor, and Booker T. Washington High School discussed solutions to support the community.

Chief Smith stressed the need to evolve with the times and engage with the public through social media and online platforms.

The event fostered valuable discussions aimed at improving resources and support for youth and families in Shreveport.
