Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Police Department participated in Career Day at Cherokee Park Elementary, giving students a firsthand look at law enforcement.

Community Liaison Officers and new officer trainees (NATs) engaged with the children through interactive demonstrations and activities.

Students experienced flashing patrol lights, explored police vests and bikes, and sat in the back of a patrol car.

They also tried walking in a straight line while wearing impairment goggles and learned about gun safety and personal safety measures.

To conclude the event, each student received an honorary Shreveport Police badge. Officers said the experience may have inspired some future recruits.
