Shreveport, LA – Homicide detectives with the Shreveport Police Department announced significant progress in their investigation of the recent homicide at Walgreens. Over the past 72 hours, members of the Violent Crimes Unit have worked diligently to identify those responsible for the tragic incident.
Authorities have issued a warrant for Kelvin Lewis, born July 25, 1986, charging him with one count of second-degree murder. Lewis is currently detained in Arlington, Texas, on unrelated violent offense charges. Detectives are also actively seeking Larry Lewis for his involvement in the crime.
Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith expressed gratitude to the community for its support and the critical information provided during the investigation. “This calculated and heinous crime shook our community to its core. Thanks to the relentless work of our Violent Crimes Unit and the cooperation of the public, we have made critical progress toward bringing justice to the victim and their family,” Chief Smith stated.
Detectives are continuing their efforts to gather information and ensure all responsible parties are held accountable. Additional arrests may be made as the investigation moves forward.
