SPD celebrated the achievements of students who completed the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program

Shreveport, LA – According to the police officials, the D.A.R.E. program is reportedly an initiative aimed at equipping young people with the skills to resist peer pressure and avoid violence, substance abuse, and other harmful behaviors.

The program, led by members of the SPD D.A.R.E. Unit—Sergeant Jason Jones, Corporal Vy’Andrea Williams, Corporal Roderick Lewis, Corporal Gregory Washington, and Officer Brandon Hancock—highlights the department’s commitment to fostering safer and healthier communities.

Upcoming graduation ceremonies for D.A.R.E. participants will take place at the following schools:

December 2024

  • 5th: Summer Grove Elementary, 8:00 AM
  • 9th: Southern Hills Elementary, 8:30 AM
  • 10th: Judson Elementary, 9:00 AM
  • 11th: Riverside Elementary, 8:30 AM
  • 11th: Creswell Elementary, 1:00 PM
  • 12th: Midway Elementary, 9:30 AM
  • 12th: Turner Elementary, 9:00 AM
  • 12th: Forest Hill Elementary, 9:00 AM
  • 13th: Claiborne Elementary, 8:30 AM

The Shreveport Police Department extended its congratulations to all D.A.R.E. graduates and their families, expressing confidence in the students’ ability to make positive choices and contribute meaningfully to the community.
