Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Apprehension Team (VCAT) responded to a location linked to suspected car thieves. During their search, one suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended. Upon surrender, officers discovered the individual in possession of 7 grams of marijuana and a stolen firearm.
Further investigation led police to a nearby residence. With a search warrant in hand, the Special Response Team (SRT) cleared the property, uncovering additional suspected marijuana.
Two individuals were arrested:
– **Rayvion Morris**: Charged with possession of Schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS).
– **Tywaun Lias**: Charged with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm while in possession of CDS, and possession of Schedule I and Schedule II substances.
Three firearms were recovered during the operation. Two are slated for destruction following the case’s resolution, while the third will be returned to its rightful owner.
