The Shreveport Police Department’s DARE unit was honored before the city council by Mayor Arceneaux

Shreveport, LA – According to the statement, the mayor proclaimed the upcoming week as Louisiana DARE Officers Association Week to highlight the forthcoming 33rd annual DARE training conference to be held in Shreveport.

Shreveport Police Department’s Sergeant Jason Jones, who serves as the president of the Louisiana DARE Officers Association, was commended for his outstanding work along with the entire Shreveport Police DARE unit.

Next week, Shreveport is set to welcome over 200 officers from across Louisiana.

These officers will gather in the city to learn more effective strategies for teaching youth how to avoid drug and alcohol abuse.

The event underscores the community’s commitment to fostering a safer and healthier environment for its young residents.
