Atlanta, GEORGIA – The 24-year-old parent from Georgia, later identified as Lammora, was convicted of murder and other charges against her before she was sentenced to a term of life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus an additional 35 years, court records say. Prosecutors said the defendant killed her children, 2-year-old Keyaunte and 1-year-old Jakarter, several years ago by placing the boys in oven before she turned it on.
The investigation process began after the woman called 911, telling the dispatcher that she ‘walked in into their family home only to find her children dead’. The woman claimed that she just came home from work and doesn’t know what to do. The parent also told the dispatcher that ‘she doesn’t want to get locked up because this is not her fault’..
During an interview with investigators, the 24-year-old mom reportedly told investigators that she left her children with a babysitter all day while she was at work. When she returned home from work, she reportedly discovered that both children were dead and the babysitter was gone. But, authorities in Georgia later discovered that the woman knowingly and intentionally killed her two children.
The medical examiner told investigators that the children’s heads were stuck in flipped-over oven. The medical examiner also told investigators that the children were not burned, because it would require an extensive amount of time to get to this degree. The defendant claimed she was innocent during the trial, court records say. The woman also called her husband and showed him the children’s dead bodies. The man called 911 immediately, court records say.
