ALABAMA – According to the police officials, the 31-year-old woman, later identified as Jenifer, was arrested and later charged with murder after she reportedly killed her partner by stabbing him in the chest. The victim, later identified as 31-year-old TayIor, was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman pleaded not guilty to the charges, claiming she killed the man in seIf-defense.
The fatal incident occurred last month after the woman stabbed the 31-year-old man following an argument. The victim’s children were also in the home when the stabbing occurred. The initial 911 call was placed by the victim’s 9-year-old child, who was not identified due to her age. The girl reportedly told the dispatcher that her father had been stabbed and told them that her stepmom was the one who stabbed him.
Shortly after, the 31-year-old also called 911 and told the dispatcher that there was a dispute between her and her partner, before she stabbed the man. Her attorney claimed their client ‘was in vioIent relationship, leaving her feeling she had no choice but to defend herself with a knife’.
Prosecutors claim the mother’s seIf-defense claims were question after she was heard on the 911 call telling the victim’s child that it wasn’t her, in order to minimize her involvement. Prosecutors claim the woman was reportedly heard telling the child to blame the stabbing on someone other than her. During her 911 call, the woman also said that someone else stabbed the man and that they ran out immediately. The 31-year-old woman is being held without bond.
