Shreveport, LA – Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited Devin Bazinet, 27, and Ethan Bazinet, 21, both of Basile, for alleged migratory game bird violations on December 6 in Allen Parish. The charges include taking over the limit of ducks and intentional concealment of wildlife.

While patrolling Bayou Nezpique, agents encountered the two men hunting. They discovered the men in possession of two wood ducks and a green-winged teal, along with 16 additional wood ducks intentionally concealed on the bank.

The daily bag limit for ducks is six, with a maximum of three wood ducks allowed per licensed hunter. The men exceeded their legal limit of wood ducks by three times.

Agents seized 18 wood ducks and one green-winged teal. Citations for exceeding the wood duck limit have been referred to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for prosecution in Federal Court. The charge of intentional concealment of wildlife carries a fine of $900 to $950 and up to 120 days in jail.
