Wisconsin – A Wisconsin man was arrested and charged with first-degree intentionaI homicide after deputies say he shot and kiIIed his parent during an argument at their Wisconsin, home. The defendant, 22-year-old E. Gravesron, made an initial court appearance on the charge and a judge set his cash bond at $1 million. According to the Wisconsin authorities, a domestic abuse modifier was added to the charge and he faces a possible Iife sentence if convicted.

According to the criminal complaint and law enforcement accounts, dispatch received a 911 call shortly before deputies arrived in which the caller — later identified as the defendant — told dispatchers his father was going crazy and that he had to shoot him. Deputies then located him outside the home; he was holding a firearm and was directed to put it down and come out to speak with them. The defendant reportedly told officers he had shot his parent and was taken into custody without reported further incident. Investigators recovered a firear and found multiple shell casings at the scene.

Investigators who searched the home located the victim inside and later pronounced him dead at the scene. Court records and media reports say officers found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds; there were at least five shell casings recovered on a kitchen floor, consistent with statements in the criminal complaint about multiple shots fired. The complaint filed includes details from deputies’ on-scene observations and from the statements the defendant gave after his arrest.

In interviews documented in the complaint, the defendant told deputies that he had gone into the garage, retrieved a firearm and brought it into the house. He told investigators the argument began when he returned home and found his parent drinking aIcohoI. The defendant said the pair argued about life in general, and that his father had been condescending. When asked why he grabbed the firearm, the defendant said he had reached a point where he viewed his father as a monster and that memories from his childhood came back to him. He told deputies he had thought about killing his father on and off since he was a 10 years old. The defendant also acknowledged using the firearm that day and described shooting his father multiple times; he estimated the number of shots at “five, six maybe.”

Family members and witnesses who spoke with investigators and reporters offered limited context. The defendant’s mother, who is the victim’s wife, said her son had experienced difficulties after moving back home following a breakup about a year earlier and that he had hit a rough patch, though she told reporters there had been nothing out of the ordinary on the day of the shooting. At the bond hearing, the victim’s spouse asked for a lower bond so her son could get mental health treatment; prosecutors opposed that request, arguing he posed a risk to the community and might flee if released.

The criminal complaint quotes deputies describing the defendant’s demeanor at the sheriff’s office; officers noted he showed little emotion during processing and at one point appeared to smirk, according to the affidavit. Detectives recorded statements from the defendant about past depression and prior thoughts about killing his parent as well as his admission that he had not consistently engaged in treatment or medication. Those details are part of the charging file prosecutors used to support the first-degree homicide charge.
