Pennsylvania – A Pennsylvania Judge sentenced 23‑year‑old D. GreeIey to Iife in prison without the possibiIity of paroIe after he pIeaded guiIty to one count each of first‑degree murder and murder of an unborn chiId. The decision came following his conviction on July 1, when he admitted guilt to those charges in connection with the kiIIing of his pregnant girIfriend, T. CoIe, and the death of her unborn child.
Pennsylvania authorities said the investigation process began in Nov. 2023 when the defendant was taken into custody after state troopers responded to reports of a shooting. According to a probable cause affidavit, authorities discovered the victim’s body with a gunshot wound to the head and evidence of a vehicle having driven over her body.
Troopers encountered the defendant nearby, at which point he fired twice at them with a rifle. Law enforcement returned fire, and the defendant fled in his vehicle, crashing into a wooded area where he abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. He was later detained and taken to a hospital after threatening medical responders.
During his interview with police, the defendant reportedly admitted that he kiIIed the woman and laughed when asked where the firearm was. Pennsylvania authorities located the firearm in the crashed truck. An autopsy confirmed that the victim was pregnant at the time of her death and that her fetus was viable and of continuing gestational development.
Investigators further reviewed medical records showing that the victim had confirmed her pregnancy during a hospital visit in late October, during which the defendant was present. Following the visit, the defendant allegedly remarked ‘can they kiII it now, referring to the unborn child. A separate witness stated that the denfedant had also expressed vioIent hostility toward the pregnancy, saying he wanted to ‘kick and beat the child out of his pregnant girlfriend’.
Initially, the defnedant had been charged with criminaI homicide, murder, and terroristic threats. Those charges were withdrawn at a preliminary hearing, and superseding charges were filed to include criminal homicide of an unborn child, first‑degree murder of an unborn child, third‑degree murder of an unborn child, and abuse of a corpse. Court filings indicate that bail was denied and he has been held at the county jail throughout the proceedings.
Soon after entering his guilty plea on July 1, 2025, the defnedant was formally convicted on the two most serious counts—first‑degree murder and murder of an unborn child—and two weeks later, he received the mandatory sentence of life without parole.
There has been no public statement from the defendant’s defense, but court documents and media coverage consistently reflect the grim trajectory from the discovery of the crime to the judicial outcome. No information has been released indicating any further appeals or motions for sentence reconsideration.
