Houston, TX – Texas man, later identified as 29-year-old lrbin, must serve at least three decades behind bars before he is eligible for parole after he was sentenced to more than seven decades behind bars for shooting his girlfriend after he wanted to break up with the then-22-year-old man. Prosecutors said the 16-year-old victim, Lordes, was killed because she wanted to break up with the man after he previously put a weapon to her face.

According to the court documents, the defendant and the victim were dating for a year when the much younger girl wanted to break up. During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the victim wanted to end the relationship with the defendant after he put a gun to her face.

Prosecutors also presented messages exchanged between the victim and the defendant, which said that the woman replied ‘when you were about to shoot me’ after he asked her that he ‘believed that she was going to be with him’. The man also messaged her that ‘he had the weapon to her face and put it down because he believed she meant it’. The woman then replied that ‘she is never talking to him again’.

Just moments later, the victim sent her friend a photo of the defendant holding a gun next to his face. Shortly after, the victim went outside to meet someone waiting outside in a car. As she approached the car, the friend saw the defendant come out of the shadows and shoot her in the head. He was taken into custody shortly after, police officials said. Prosecutors said during the trial that ‘five minutes after the victim told him that it was over for good, he killed her.’

Prosecutors described the defendant as a predat0r who targeted a teenage girl during their year-long relationship, which she wanted to end after he threatened her life. The defendant was convicted of murder in a five-day trial in November. He opted to go to the judge for punishment and was sentenced Tuesday to 75 years in prison.
