Shreveport, LA – According to the officials, these substations, to be strategically located on North Market Street and Monkhouse Drive, aim to optimize response times and enhance community presence.

The bidding process is set to commence shortly, with the goal of beginning construction in 2024.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the projects, Mayor Arceneaux stated, “I am thrilled to see the bid process begin for these substations.

They symbolize our commitment to improving public safety and ensuring that our police force has the resources necessary to effectively serve our citizens. This is a significant step forward in building a safer, stronger Shreveport.”

Funding for these projects is sourced from the 2021 Bond Proposition, which allocated $1.5 million for the construction of each substation.

The City is still in the process of securing a location and identifying the necessary funds for a third substation included in the 2021 Bond Proposition.
