Milwaukee, WI – According to the police officials, the 27-year-old mom, later identified as Sandy, was taken into custody and is now facing multiple chiId abuse and chiId neglect charges after seriously injuring her child. The 3-year-old body suffered injuries so severe, the medical staff had to perform emergency procedure to save his life. The investigation process began earlier this month after the woman called 911 and told the dispatcher that her child was burned by scaIding hot water.
During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the mother waited at least 1 hour before she made the 911 call. First responders rushed the child to the hospital and discovered that the boy suffered severe burns and other injuries. Per reports, the victim’s skin was reportedly peeling, so medical staff was forced to perform emergency procedure to treat the burns. The little boy also had bruises and other injuries all over his body. Some of the injuries were inflicted several days before he was admitted to the hospital.
During an interview with investigators, the young mom reportedly said that she had boiling water on the stove. The woman then went to the bathroom shortly only to hear her child scream. When the woman returned, the boy was reportedly screaming in pain and attempting to get away from the boiIing water. The woman also told investigators that she never physically disciplined her child. During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the woman and the child’s dad exchanges texts several days before the incident, in which the woman said that ‘the boy soiIed himself and then played with it, so she beat him’.
Two other children, 7 and 5-years-old, were also found in the home. They reportedly told authorities that their mom regularly beats them with a charging cord, even for being loud. The children also said that on one instance, their mom ‘put her hands around the 7-year-old child’s neck and then squeezed’. The child, who was not identified due to her age, also told investigators that the mother punched her in the face. The 27-year-old mom is being held on $50,000 bond, court records say.
