Mom’s friend was caring for her child while she was ‘locked up,’ only for the woman to daily beat the 4-year-old over several months with different objects, leaving her fighting for her life; charged

Houston, TX – The 30-year-old Texas woman, later identified as Temeria, was taken into custody and later charged with injury to a child after she reportedly left child fighting for her life. Authorities in Texas said that due to the severity of the injuries, the 4-year-old was transferred to Texas Children’s Hospital in serious condition. The woman, who was caring for the child for the last several months while the victim’s biological parent was in prison, reportedly beat the little girl daily for months, causing the severe injuries. 

The investigation process began last week after hospital staff called the authorities after seriously injured child was rushed to the hospital. According to the authorities, hospital staff reportedly said that the child suffered life-threatening injuries and was transferred to the Texas Children’s Hospital in serious condition. During the investigation process, authorities determined that the child was beaten daily with different objects, including belt, cord and an unknown object, local news outlet Click2Houston reported.

According to the police officials, homicide detectives were responsible for this case due to the severity of the child’s injuries which were reportedly inflicted by the 30-year-old caretaker. The defendant is a friend of the child’s biological mother, who is currently in prison. The child’s father had not had contact with her since September. During an interview with investigators, the 30-year-old caretaker reportedly confessed to beating the child with her hands and belt on different occasions. 

During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the child was violentIy beaten daily over several months with a belt, a cord, the caretaker’s hand and an unknown object. After the child was rushed to a local hospital and signs of abuse were discovered, authorities were notified and an investigation was initiated because of the severity and life-threatening nature of the injuries. The 30-year-old woman was released from jail after making her $100,000 bond.
