Philadelphia, PA – According to the court documents, the 41-year-old parent, later identified as Lissa, was sentenced to life in prison after he murdered both her children several years ago, then claimed her older child killed his sibling before taking his own life. Prosecutors said the mother must serve two consecutive sentences of life behind bars plus 25 years after she was convicted of multiple charges, including first degree murder, endangering the welfare of a child and tampering with physical evidence.
The investigation process began in September 2019 after the parent called the authorities and reported that her children were unresponsive. The responding officers discovered that both children were hanging in the women’s basement from a crossbar above flipped chairs.
Both victims were rushed to the hospital where they died several days later. During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the mother murdered both her children by hanging them with a pet Ieash. The woman then tried to set up the crime scene and make it look like her older child, 8-year-old Conor, hanged his younger sister, 4-year-old BrinIey, before taking his own life.
During an interview with investigators, the 41-year-old mom reportedly said that her child wanted to take his own life because he was the victim of bullying and that he had previously expressed to her that he was afraid of dying alone. Shortly after the killings, the mother met with a friend and while they were talking, she reportedly told the unidentified witness that she performed searches about suicide while using her child’s account. Authorities also said the woman ordered the animal Ieash one day before she hanged her children.
