Shreveport Police Department promotes six officers to leadership positions, honoring their dedication and service

Shreveport, LA – On April 1, 2025, the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) held a promotion ceremony to elevate six officers to leadership positions. Deputy Police Chief Antoine White presided over the event, recognizing the officers’ dedication and service to the community.

The officers promoted were:

– Captain Alain Jones: With years of experience, Captain Jones has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to public safety.

– Captain Michael Carter: Captain Carter’s promotion reflects his dedication to the department and the community he serves.

– Lieutenant Keith Knox: Lieutenant Knox has shown consistent excellence in his duties, earning him this advancement.

– Lieutenant David Gardner: Promoted to lieutenant, Gardner continues to exemplify the values of the SPD.

– Sergeant Emmett Gafford: Sergeant Gafford’s promotion acknowledges his hard work and leadership within the department.

– Sergeant Phillip Tucker: Although unable to attend the ceremony, Sergeant Tucker’s promotion is a testament to his contributions to SPD.
