Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Police Department announced an arrest in connection with the tragic shooting that took place on May 27, 2025, in the 3100 block of Parkhurst Drive. Just after 8:30 p.m. that evening, officers responded to reports of gunfire and discovered a 15-year-old male victim who had been shot. The department’s Violent Crimes Unit quickly launched a thorough investigation. Early findings suggest that a dispute between neighbors escalated into a dangerous confrontation involving multiple individuals discharging firearms.
After diligent detective work, authorities identified a 14-year-old juvenile as the suspect responsible for the fatal shooting. The juvenile was arrested on May 30, 2025, and has been charged with one count of manslaughter. The suspect is currently held at the Caddo Parish Juvenile Detention Center.
“This is a deeply tragic incident that has left a profound impact on our community,” said Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith. “We extend our condolences to the family of the young victim and remain committed to pursuing justice and peace in our neighborhoods.”
