
Shreveport, LA – Early Wednesday morning, Shreveport Police officers arrested two convicted felons who were found in illegal possession of firearms during proactive enforcement.
The first arrest occurred shortly after 3:00 a.m. when officers stopped 28-year-old Dacarea Jackson for traffic violations. Jackson, who has a prior conviction for Domestic Abuse Battery by Strangulation, was found armed and is prohibited from possessing a firearm. He now faces charges for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Domestic Abuse Battery, and multiple traffic violations.
Approximately 30 minutes later, officers arrested 25-year-old Obreyon Pouncy, who was also found armed while inside a vehicle. Pouncy, who has prior felony narcotics convictions, is prohibited from possessing a firearm. He now faces charges for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Reckless Operation of a Vehicle, and Interfering with a Law Enforcement Investigation.
Police officials stated that removing illegal firearms from individuals who are legally prohibited from possessing them is part of ongoing efforts to reduce violent crime in Shreveport.
