Shreveport, LA – On Thursday, November 14, 2024, at approximately 12:45 p.m., the Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crime Apprehension Team (VCAT) responded to a firearms complaint in the 9200 block of Biddle Street. Acting on the information, VCAT and K-9 units arrived at the location and engaged with several individuals.
During the interaction, a suspect, identified as 29-year-old Gunner Hendrix, fled on foot while discarding a firearm. VCAT officers pursued and quickly apprehended him, recovering the abandoned handgun.
A subsequent investigation revealed multiple vials of THC inside Hendrix’s vehicle. This evidence prompted officers to obtain a search warrant for Hendrix’s residence at 706 Woodvale Street. The search uncovered a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and narcotics, including:
– 13 shotguns
– 20 rifles
– 14 pistols
– 7 rifle lowers
– 10 pounds of ammunition
– Body armor
– 11 pounds of THC vials
Hendrix was arrested and transported to the Shreveport Police Department Jail for processing. All recovered evidence was secured in the SPD Property Room.
The SPD Narcotics Unit, along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), is continuing the investigation. Authorities are working to identify additional suspects and any criminal activities connected to the case.
