Shreveport, LA – Around 4:30 a.m. on November 25, Shreveport police responded to a report of a man passed out in the driver’s seat of a vehicle on Louisiana Avenue.
Officers were alerted by a concerned citizen and observed a firearm on the center console as they approached.
The driver, 38-year-old David Bayless, attempted to grab and hide the gun but was quickly detained.
A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana residue in the driver’s seat, ecstasy pills hidden in a fake bill, two glass pipes with burnt residue, and a baggie of meth in the glove compartment.
Bayless, a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms, was arrested and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on multiple felony drug and firearm charges.
