Louisiana – The Louisiana State Police have arrested 30-year-old Brandon Chenevert of Denham Springs in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian severely injured.
The incident took place on March 29, 2025, just before 9:00 p.m., when troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A responded to a crash involving a pedestrian on LA 1023, south of LA 63, in Livingston Parish.
According to the investigation, a vehicle, possibly a Toyota, struck the pedestrian and fled the scene heading north on LA 1023. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries. In response, the Louisiana State Police requested public assistance in identifying the vehicle and the driver.
On April 1, 2025, troopers received two anonymous tips that led them to identify Chenevert as the driver responsible for the crash. A subsequent search warrant was executed, uncovering the suspect vehicle along with damaged parts from the crash. In addition, law enforcement discovered narcotics and firearms at the property.
Chenevert was arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on multiple charges, including Felony Hit and Run, Negligent Injuring, Obstruction of Justice, Failure to Seek Assistance, Possession of Schedule I with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Schedule III, and Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances.
The investigation remains active as authorities continue to gather information. Louisiana State Police praised the public’s role in solving crimes and promoting safety, emphasizing how community cooperation, such as the anonymous tips in this case, is vital in holding offenders accountable.
