Shreveport, LA – In response to the increasing popularity of pickleball, Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation Department will resurface ten existing outdoor tennis courts into pickleball courts. The following locations are included in the project:
– Earl G. Williamson Park: 6 dedicated pickleball courts (11425 LA Hwy. 1, Oil City, LA)
– Keithville Community Park: 2 multi-use courts for pickleball and tennis (12201 Mansfield Rd., Keithville, LA)
– Town of Blanchard: 1 dedicated pickleball court (402 Birch Ave., Blanchard, LA)
– Town of Greenwood: 1 dedicated pickleball court (9360 Greenwood Rd., Greenwood, LA)
Patrick Wesley, director of Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation, noted that pickleball has become the fastest-growing sport in the country over the past three years.
He emphasized that the department is responding to strong community demand for more dedicated pickleball courts.
