Shreveport, LA – Caddo Parish has been awarded a grant through the 2024-25 Keep Louisiana Beautiful Trash Receptacle Grant Program, making it one of 60 recipients across the state.

The program, funded by the State of Louisiana and the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, has allocated 285 trash receptacles to various organizations in 37 parishes.

Erica R. Bryant, Parish Administrator and CEO, expressed gratitude for the grant, highlighting its importance in combating the ongoing litter problem in the parish.

“Litter continues to be a problem across our entire parish. Thanks to Keep Louisiana Beautiful, the trash receptacles will help reduce litter and keep our community clean and beautiful,” said Bryant.

As part of the grant requirements, Caddo Parish will conduct a post-installation litter scan, comparing the collected data with preliminary results. This information will be shared with the public once available.

The new trash receptacles will be placed in the following parish parks:

– Earl G. Williamson Park, 11425 LA Hwy. 1, Oil City, LA 71061
– P.B.S Pinchback Park, 7903 Jefferson Paige Rd, Shreveport, LA 71119
– Eddie D. Jones Park, 7990 Caddo Dr, Spring Ridge, LA 71047

This initiative is expected to contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable environment in the parish.
