Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office and Shreveport Police Department joint operation results in increased coverage and arrests

Shreveport, LA – A joint operation between the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) and the Shreveport Police Department (SPD), set to conclude on December 31, 2024, at 6:00 a.m., has significantly enhanced law enforcement coverage in South Shreveport since its initiation in October.

Under a memorandum of understanding, CPSO deputies were authorized to patrol and respond to service calls in designated areas, including the southern portion of Bert Kouns from Hwy 80 (near I-20) to Ellerbe Road. This effort ensured 24/7 coverage throughout the operation.

Between October 29 and December 20, CPSO responded to 802 calls for service. Preliminary statistics from October 29 to December 6 revealed the following outcomes:

– **Felony Arrests:** 6
– **Misdemeanor Arrests:** 23
– **Citations Issued:** 9
– **Warnings Issued:** 21
– **Crashes:** 17
– **Self-Initiated Calls:** 343
– **Citizen Assists:** 15
– **Reports Filed:** 116
– **Business Checks Conducted:** 629
– **Residential Checks Conducted:** 55
– **Area Checks (Subdivisions):** 950
– **School Bus Stops Monitored:** 21
– **Investigations Conducted:** 79

Following the operation’s conclusion, CPSO intends to replicate similar initiatives in other areas of the parish. These targeted efforts aim to address specific community needs and bolster law enforcement presence where it is most needed.
