Louisiana – Last week, a Louisiana woman was arrested on multiple charges, including chiId desertion and crueIty to juveniles. The arrest followed a welfare check prompted by reports of unsupervised children at an apartment complex in Louisiana.

Deputies responded to the call around 10:00 a.m. and discovered four children under the age of six left alone in the apartment. The living conditions were described as deplorable, with feces covering the premises and a bucket of ur-ne found inside. The children appeared soiIed, and the youngest child was noted to have a severe diaper rash.

Approximately two hours into the investigation, the 25-year-old parent, later identified as  Dayonjane, returned to the apartment. She informed detectives that she had left the children sleeping around 3:00 a.m. to get food but found the restaurant closed. Subsequently, she went to a friend’s house, where she claimed to have fallen asleep.

She was taken into custody and booked into the correctional center.

The Department of Child and Family Services has placed the children in state custody. Sheriff GuiIIory expressed gratitude to community members who reported the situation, emphasizing the heartbreaking nature of the children’s living conditions.

The incident has raised concerns within the local community about child welfare and the importance of vigilance in reporting suspected neglect or abuse. Authorities continue to urge residents to report any signs of child endangerment to prevent similar situations.
