Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced the start of a $2,068,400.57 construction project along La. 347, spanning from La. 86 to just over 0.4 miles south of La. 96.

The project aims to improve road conditions and safety through a series of upgrades including pavement patching, asphalt milling and overlay, and new pavement markings.

Construction is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. During this time, travelers should expect alternating lane closures.

While the road will remain open to regular traffic, a 12-foot lane width restriction will apply to oversized loads starting Tuesday, May 20.

Emergency vehicles will maintain access to the area but may experience delays due to active construction.

The project is expected to be completed by August 2025. DOTD urges motorists to exercise caution when traveling through the work zone and to stay alert for workers and equipment.
