Shreveport, LA – Governor Jeff Landry has signed an executive order creating a Fiscal Responsibility Program to monitor Louisiana’s state spending and ensure efficient and effective government operations. The program will be overseen by Fiscal Responsibility Czar Steve Orlando and will include at least nine members.
The appointees include Senators Hodges, Miguez, Boudreaux, and Stine, selected by the Senate President, and Representatives McFarland, Fisher, Tarver, and Berault, chosen by the House Speaker.
Governor Landry has prioritized fiscal responsibility throughout his career. As Louisiana Attorney General, his “Fiscal Responsibility Project” saved approximately $1 million in its first year. During his time in Congress, he returned over 10% of his office budget to help reduce national debt.
“In Louisiana, we always strive for a government that serves its people efficiently and effectively,” said Governor Landry. “I look forward to the efforts of Steve Orlando and the program members as we build a government as good as her people.”
